What are the benefits of ants?

Let us begin with the bright side! Scientists' research shows that an ant nest can destroy about 2000 eggs laid by caterpillars, flies, mites, and snails daily, in addition, they actively eat the larvae of harmful insects (Wasps, Bees, Ticks, Mosquitoes, Flower bugs, Midges and gnats, Bedbugs, Horseflies and more). Ants even eat dead pigeons and other dead animals along with dead insects all around nature so they are the best pest control near me! Ant colonies contribute to the deep loosening of the soil, enriching it with oxygen, the humidity in the underground dwellings of the ant colonies is maintained at 90%, which is very useful for the roots of plants located nearby. The soil in the territories inhabited by ants is enriched with phosphorus and potassium, and these elements are present in it in a form that is freely absorbed by the roots of plants.

We love ants but only the ones in the nature or controlled environment. Don't you just hate it when you find ants everywhere in your kitchen? No person enjoys having ants nesting inside their fridge or washing machine or anywhere in the house. Do you want to get rid of them but don't know how? Let us help!

How much does it cost to get rid of ants?

Pest control for ants in residential properties usually costs between£120 and £250. Ant exterminators will strategically place gel baits near nests and entry points. The treatment is effective and will eliminate the infestation for good. Depending on the number of treatments you require, this cost estimate will vary.

Our point is not to kill the ants but to banish them away forever and save money.

Safety advice. Avoid using insecticides and pesticides to get rid of ants. These products are very toxic and harmful to the environment and your family's health.

Instead, you can use these methods we have proved ourselves.

The main ant species in the UK that invade your house is the Lasius Niger, also known as Black Ants or Black Garden Ants. This is one of the most common European species and is often especially evident at sites of human disturbance including towns, villages and quarries. You must know how the ants communicate at first so you can cut their way out of your home. Ants use pheromones to communicate and cutting off their pheromones trail, the way to talk to each other, will help you send them away from your home for good.

1. Garlic powder or granules.

Get either garlic powder or granules and dissolve in warm water. You need to make a paste. Locate the place that the ants enter your home, and apply a small amount of this miracle potion using a brush or cotton cloth. The smell will confuse not only the vampires but the ants as well and over-smell their pheromones. They will not enter your home anymore foraging for food. You can also mix sawdust with crushed garlic and use it the same way.

2. Apple (white) vinegar with cinnamon against ants.

Vinegar and cinnamon powder potion (1:1) has a strong smell, which will help erase ants' pheromones and repel insects quickly. With a solution consisting of one tablespoon of vinegar and a glass of water (200ml), you should wipe all places where ants accumulate in the house. Treatment with vinegar solution should be carried out systematically, starting once a day for the first week and then once weekly to prevent the ants' appearance again.

3. Toothpaste, Chalk (limestone).

The Limestone is technically Calcium carbonate. Ants hate Calcium carbonate. It's completely safe for living beings and do not hurt the ants but they will not even try passing near it. Just get a toothpaste containing Calcium carbonate (Mint flavoured is better) and fill the ants' entrance or apply a thin layer where their trail is. Reapply if needed. Or even better, get a chalk (classroom chalk but not Chinese Chalk) and draw a few (5-7) lines where the ants break through in your house. Voila. No more ants at home.

4. Slaked lime.

Limestone is calcium carbonate (CaCO3), which releases calcium oxide and carbon dioxide when heated аt a temperature of 900 – 1000 degrees Celsius. The Slaket lime is basically another form of Calcium carbonate. Due to its basic chemical nature, calcium dihydroxide is also called calcium base. Use pure Slaked lime powder and just sprinkle where the ants' entrance is. Put some more on the areas you don't want the insects to appear around. It will definitely keep them away. It's not a toxic product but please, keep away from children and pets.

5. More ways to get rid of ants at home by using what you have available at once.

Try ground cinnamon, anise, wormwood, parsley, mint, elderflower, ground coffee, cayenne pepper, cloves, or dried mint leaves. Sprinkling it near openings will repel ants. Place it around the areas where ants are coming into your home. Aim for doors, windowsills, floors, flower pots and any tiny gaps. Like vinegar and cinnamon, insects can't stand the strong smell. Or try with Essential oils: tea tree essential oil, peppermint essential oil or citrus essential oil. How to use? Soak cotton wool balls in the essential oil. All these methods have been tried and tested by us and really work without fail to drive the ants out of your home without harming the ants. You can also squeeze the juice of a lemon at the entry point and leave the peel there.
